With "Classroom," Google Introduces New Free Educational Tool For Schools

Creating and collecting assignments takes ages for teachers, resulting in the loss of a lot of valuable time for both students and instructors. Luckily, technology can help teachers become better educators and keep them away from onerous work hours. Teachers can now get back to the actual teaching with “Classroom,” Google's new free tool that joins the Google Apps for Education suite.

How Classroom Works

  • Classroom incorporates Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Docs, so that teachers can create     and gather students' homework without using paper. Teachers can easily see which students haven't done their homework, and give them immediate feedback
  • Teachers can ask questions, provide answers and comments, and announce important     issues with Classroom. They can generally improve communication with students, whether in, or outside of, the class
  • Classroom helps teachers stay organized any time by automatically creating Drive folders for each student’s papers. Students can also see which assignments have been turned in, and which are due, on their Assignments page

Google's Classroom nurtures the fundamental idea that educational tools should be user-friendly, and should give teachers time to teach, and students time to learn. Classroom is very secure, doesn't use the content and data for advertising, and it's free for schools.

Teachers and professors can apply for a preview of Classroom as of today, but Google will be inviting only a limited number of educators to try out the tool for a month. However, by September, Classroom will be found in all schools that use Google Apps for Education. Google also encourages developers and partners to join in and learn about integration with Classroom.
