Hand gesture interface technology allows better human-computer interaction by creating environment in which people can interact directly with virtual objects. Hand gesture recognition facilitates efficient and interaction in virtual environments by removing the mediation of a mouse or a keyboard.

 

The University of Tokyo's Ishikawa-Watanabe laboratory recently partnered with ZSpace to develop a high speed 3D hand gesture interface that allows users to manipulate virtual 3D objects in open space using only their hands. In this Tapplication demonstrating an animated model of a heart, the user can dissect the organ with great accuracy using a stylus with.
