Tunes that Sound Suspiciously Similar to Other Songs

Oscar Wilde once said that talent borrows and genius steals. A recently announced lawsuit against Led Zeppelin alleges that one of the band's watershed musical moments, the best-known song “Stairway to Heaven,“ is a rip- off of a song by the California band Spirit. Spirit’s 2 minute song “Taurus“ resembles the intro to „Stairway.“ Zeppelin has been questioned about the originality of some of their songs in the past, and was previously sued for copyright infringement and violation of copyright rules. While these allegations have alway been directed towards the heavy borrowing of old blues lyrics, however; this is the first time Led Zeppelin is being sued for actually stealing music. Cases of copyright infringement occur often. Check out this list of songs that sound painfully similar to other people's songs.
