Google has a tendency to amuse us almost every day with some fun and interesting tricks. Here are the top 10 pranks we thought would most amuse you. Most of them are no longer in use but pressing the link will still make you experience the prank once again.
The name says it all. This fun trick from Google bonds with the physical law of gravity: everything that goes up, must fall down. All the visual elements on the interface fall down at the bottom of the browser. Have fun while picking them up and throwing them around. It is no longer in use but you can see how it worked through this link.
Chuck Norris is never out of fashion, but there was a time when the internet was flooded with Chuck Norris jokes. Google did the same with the Google Chuck Norris Trick. When you write “Search Chuck Norris,” you get a response: “Google won't search for Chuck Norris because it knows you don't find Chuck Norris, he finds you.” Check it out.
It was a long time ago that Pac-Man celebrated its 30th anniversary. On May 22, 2010, Google made a Google Pac-Man doodle. The search engine was made into a mini-version of Pac-Man, and hundreds of millions of people spent hours playing the game instead of working. Even now when you check out this joke, you won't be able NOT to play it once more. It is that addictive.
Another interactive joke is Google Sphere. It is also not in use but it is still cool to see how it worked. Google Sphere turns every element on Google's home page into a swirling sphere.
You can make jokes with your friends with this magical trick. Click anywhere on the white screen, then run your finger over the two OO's on the Google logo for two seconds, and watch how they disappear. To bring them back, just do the same thing all over again.
If you know that this is just a prank maybe it won't be annoying, but if you are in a hurry or you just simply don't know it's one of Google’s jokes this may upset you. Google is messing up your words as you type and it even changes letters randomly from upper-case to lower-case.
Epic Google is Google on steroids: It pumps up itself until you type something in the search bar to deflate it, and as a reverse the Weenie Google shrinks itself until you can no longer make use of it.
This trick is still available today, and it makes Google do a barrel roll. When you type “Do a barrel roll” in the search bar, Google will obey and do some acrobatics.
This can be useful sometimes if someone is too lazy to do the Google-ing himself. LMGTFY is a service that lets you, upon entering a search query, get a link that you can copy and paste and send to a lazy recipient. So you kinda do the job for them. Or Google does? It is a bit confusing.
This is not much of a trick and it won't make you do the barrel roll, but it gives you a colourful experience of Google. The colours are changing all the time and after you type in the search bar, you can just click “I'm feeling Colourful,” or just do a “Rainbow Search.”
