Lego is incredibly popular these days. The toy building set has occasionally stepped outside of the realm of children’s toys and mingled with pop culture, making deals with franchises as big as Disney’s Star Wars in recent years. The Lego brand has followed these alliances up with multiple movies aimed at children and adults, keeping their image fresh and in the minds of millions.
Lego has used its emergence in pop culture as a way to stay relevant long after its initial boom in the 1990s. Earlier in January, the company announced that it would be releasing an official Lego set based on the popular cartoon, The Simpsons. This partnership with Twentieth Century Fox is significant because it symbolizes Lego’s continued growth in the pop culture realm.
Fans of The Simpsons series and Lego fans alike will now be able to build a replica of the family’s Springfield home, equipped with authentic rooms and characters. The full set will set you back a cool $200, and has over a dozen characters ready for play in its first release. If that sounds a bit steep, you can order each character individually for only $4 each.
