The Cheapest And Most Expensive Gasoline In The World

The most treasured thing in the world has always been the so-called “black gold” and its price has the biggest impact in our everyday lives. It is not a big surprise that the price of the oil vary around the world a lot and it’s due to multiple factors. Some countries have it, some import it. Its price starts from $111.17 per liter in Nigeria as the highest and it goes down to $103.53 in US Gulf for the same quality of oil, with a sulfur content of 0.12%. The price of the oil goes down as the sulfur content gets higher because it is known that high values of sulfur lower the quality of the oil.

But surprisingly, the price of gasoline, which is an oil derivative, varies even more throughout the world, from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong. So let’s check the details.

In Malaysia, specifically in Kuala Lumpur, the price of 1 liter of gasoline is $0.65, which is the lowest price in the world. Second in line is Jakarta, with $0.82 per 1 liter. The US also has a low price, that varies from one city to another. Boston has the lowest price at around $0.96 and New York City has the highest, at $1.07 per liter. Canada also belongs to the “light-priced” countries with $1.2 per liter. China and India share the same price of $1.3.

The first place belongs to Hong Kong. The price of 1 liter of gasoline is astonishing $2.32, which is the highest price in the world. Compared to the US, its price is more than 2 times higher.
