Social Media And The Small Web Business

It’s nearly impossible to NOT have a social media presence today

In this day and age, having a social media account is a necessity for a small business. Most business owners now use social media in their private lives, so it’s usually not much of a transition to using it for business purposes. Having a social media presence allows small businesses to talk to customers and grow their brand while using popular mediums.

Small businesses grow by word of mouth. Today, that happens online

Small businesses, for the most part, don’t have the marketing budget of corporate giants. That means they must compete in other ways. One of those has been around for centuries—and it’s word of mouth. Nowadays, word of mouth occurs online, and good press can potentially go viral through Twitter or Facebook, garnering you new orders and new fans for your business.

Be prepared to invest time and manpower

Signing up for social media doesn’t guarantee you followers or new customers right off the bat. You have to invest time by following people who share your interests, answering the questions of customers, and offering prizes and special sales. By being exciting and engaging, you’ll get organic traffic, which will in time lead to more sales for your products and services.
