Now that the 2014 Winter Olympic Games are over, the kick off to the Paralympic Games is awaited this weekend, with the Opening Ceremony taking place today, in Sochi. And, Samsung Electronics is the official partner to sponsor the 2014 Paralympic Games.
Samsung's campaign programme honours the accomplishments of the athletes and gives fans from around the world the chance to see the Games through the eyes of the Paralympic competitors. Thus, the athletes have created videos using Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphones, giving fans the opportunity to see what life is like through their eyes. These videos are part of the “Sochi 2014 Samsung Paralympic Bloggers” partnership with International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
Fans can also see what life is like for the visually-impaired in a demo named “Dialogue in the Dark,” and experience the Paralympic sport via an interactive ice sledge hockey zone, found in the Samsung Galaxy Studio Olympic Park.
In addition, Samsung has created the Sochi 2014 WOW mobile app, which offers interaction for the Games' fans, and has released a video of a young promising Paralympian who delivers a very inspirational message, as part of Samsung's “What’s Your Problem? Sport Doesn’t Care” campaign.
All footage created by the Paralympic athletes will be available at IPC's YouTube channel.
Younghee Lee, Samsung's Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division, says, “Through our partnership with the IPC and access to inspirational athletes, Samsung is in a unique position to provide an opportunity for people worldwide to see and experience the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in a new way, directly from the perspective of the athletes.”
For Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, Samsung says it is proud to be supporting 16 athletes, from 14 countries. The global leader in technology has been a dedicated partner of the Paralympic Movement since the 2006 Torino Paralympic Winter Games, and has been fully engaged in sponsoring lots of projects in an effort to support the Winter Games since 2006.
