Quick and Easy Meals for a Busy Lifestyle

Life in the big city rolls on by at a pretty quick pace. Living a balanced life that includes work, play, relationships, pets, and hobbies can make mealtime more than a little rushed. What’s the point of busting your hump all week if you’re coming home to frozen TV dinners every night?

Even the most mindless bachelor can preheat an oven, so the only excuse is ignorance. Luckily for you, I fancy myself an educator. Here’s my own personal menu of quick and easy dinners that anyone can fix in a pinch.

Shrimp Pasta

Buy some frozen shrimp, boil up a bit of water and add your favourite type of pasta. Melt butter in the microwave and add some garlic, and there’s your sauce. Toss your shrimp in with the sauce, heat over a skillet until they’re pink enough to look delicious.

Boom. You’re done with dinner 15 minutes after you decide you’re hungry.

Crock Pots Save Lives

This isn’t exactly quick, but it is efficient. Buy potatoes, carrots, a green veggie of your choice, and whatever meat suits you best. I’m a big fan of beef.

Throw it all in a crock pot with water and set it for a slow boil in the morning. By the time you get home from work, you’ve got a steamy and delicious beef and vegetable stew.

Feel free to get creative with your ingredients and spices.

Tilapia and Veggies

Thaw some filets out by running cool water over them in the sink for a few minutes, set your oven to broil. When your fish is thawed, season it with paprika, salt, pepper, and parsley. Broil for 7 minutes.

Warm some frozen veggies for five minutes in the microwave, and you’ve got a low calorie batch of sustenance ready in no time.
