At the F8 Conference, that started on Wednesday, Facebook launched its new mobile ad network called Audience Network. This will allow the mobile advertising network to target users through the applications they are already using.
The Audience Network uses the very exact same process of targeting, available for Facebook ads today, and in addition it includes custom audiences, core audiences and look-alike audiences. It is able to target customers that have shared information with Facebook, but also targets customers based on how they behave on Facebook outside of the company ads. In a blog post, Facebook explained how the Audience Network will operate.
Now advertisers are allowed to use the power of Facebook data outside of the “big blue app”. The main purpose of the Audience Network is to extend the possibility of targeting customers to other apps besides Facebook. It is a great opportunity for advertisers to gain the audience they care about, and to offer the ads that people are really interested in.
Marketers using the Audience Network will have the possibility to reach key business objectives because ads are designed to help them. Audience Network will deliver the best ads possible in three innovative formats: banner, interstitial and native format.
This mobile ad network will expand the already impressive capabilities of Facebook's ad-targeting process, giving advertisers the ability to obtain more and more users. There is also the possibility for apps to link to one another without addressing users to the mobile web, a mobile like button to drive viral traffic, and also the opportunity to share items from third-party apps with Facebook Messenger.
