Leonardo DiCaprio To Play Steve Jobs in the Upcoming Biopic

“The Beach” director Danny Boyle could pair up with DiCaprio again. Sony Pictures is apparently in talks with Boyle, who is considering directing the new Steve Jobs film, and has even approached DiCaprio to ask him to star Jobs.

Danny Boyle entered the picture when the previous in-talks director David Fincher was supposedly too controlling and demanding, asking for money in advance and management on his side over the project's marketing. Under Fincher’s directing, the lead role would have gone to Christian Bale.

The new Steve Jobs biopic is based on the best-selling biography by Walter Isaacson, and is to be produced by Scott Rudin. The screenplay is to be written by Aaron Sorkin, who also wrote the script for “The Social Network.”

This latter combo seems to be more appealing to the audience; the actor and director did great in “The Beach,” and both artists boast amazing creative energy in their work, including “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and “Slumdog Millionaire.”
