After the launching of HTC's newest model--the HTC One--and Samsung's Galaxy S5, rumours are circulating concerning Apple's upcoming new smartphone edition, expected to go by the name iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 will include upgraded features from its predecessors, iPhone 5 and 5s, so let's take a look at some of them:
The iPhone 6 is expected to be 0.22-inches thick--a much slimmer version than the 0.30-inch body of the iPhone 5s.
According to the newest and most interesting rumours given by MacRumors, Apple is expected to release two smartphone models, both different in size. The two versions are expected to have a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display. If true, this means Apple is opting for a larger handset for its new model.
Aside from growing in size, the new model is expected to have an Ultra Retina Screen which will offer higher pixel density. According to DisplaySearch, the 4.7-inch is expected to have a 1600x900 resolution screen, whereas the 5.5-inch will have a 1920x1080 resolution display. Different rumours claim different resolution possibilities, leaving everyone still very confused and guessing.
As rumour suggests, the upcoming iPhone 6 is to be even stronger than its predecessors, iPhone 5 and 5s. These two latest iPhone models are already the strongest and fastest smartphones on the market, with a 64-bit processor. The upcoming iPhone 6 is predicted to include a 20-nanometer quad-core, which will make it the first ever smartphone to have a quad core processor and graphics.
According to Chinese analyst, Sun Chang Xu, for website Weibo, new sensors for pressure, temperature and humidity are being considered for the new iPhone model. In addition to this, other rumours are indicating that touch sensors in the display and the pressure sensors for the home button will be improved. This is possible, especially after 2010, when Apple acquired Luiquidmetal Technologies, and since then has been moving towards introducing a Liquidmetal-based iPhone.
The camera for the upcoming model is expected to be the same as the 8 megapixel one found on the current version. However, there will be improved features. One improvement suggests better image stabilization, that will allow for reduced motion blurring when the camera is exposed, or in simpler terms, images and video footage will be much clearer when on the move.
The new sapphire crystal display cover is by far one of the more exciting features for the rumoured iPhone 6. This new display promises stronger cover coating for longer durability. However, according to some reports, due to this type of display cover, Apple could increase prices for the new model.
The wait is expected to be over latest this fall, when the iPhone 6 is to be finally launched. May the countdown begin.
