Got Bitcoins? Now You Can Buy or Sell Them in a Las Vegas In-Casino Bitcoin ATM

Bitcoins are now available in the gambling paradise of Las Vegas. The D Las Vegas Casino Hotel has teamed up with Bitcoin's global cash ATM network, Robocoin, and will set up the Bitcoin ATM, from which all gambling lovers can buy, or sell, their cryptocurrency.

Located downtown on Fremont Street, the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel is conveniently dissociated from the Strip. Earlier this year, the D was the first of the Vegas hotels to offer the option of paying for hotel stays, gift shops and restaurants with Bitcoins. However, as the Nevada Gaming Control Board wouldn't approve of Bitcoins for gambling, the hotel doesn't accept the currency for gambling purposes.

The CEO of the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel, Derek Stevens, states, “We’re proud to be the first casino property to accept Bitcoin and we’re excited to offer our customers the convenience of a Bitcoin ATM.” Also, Stevens told the CoinDesk that the Nevada Gaming Commission believes in the potential and future use of Bitcoins in the gaming industry.

The ATM network, Robocoin, launched one of its first Bitcoin ATMs last year in a coffeehouse in Vancouver. The company wishes to collaborate with local operators, so that the compliance of the machines with regional standards is guaranteed. Operators are working closely with regulators.

Jordan Kelly, Robocoin's CEO, is proud of the inclusion of a Bitcoin ATM in the gambling heaven, Las Vegas: “These are all signs of Bitcoin maturity and institutional acceptance. We couldn’t be happier to install Robocoin in our hometown and the D is a perfect fit.”
