Flappy Bird Is Officially Down

Have you tried playing “Flappy Bird” and not wanting to throw your phone across the room? I haven't heard of such person, including myself. Even though “Flappy Bird” is a simple and deceptively easy concept of a bird trying to fly through pipes, the game is anything but that. It has been praised for its simple design but extremely difficult task it offers.

The spectacularly popular and oh-so-very annoying mobile game “Flappy Bird” is no longer available to download, as of yesterday. Its inventor Dong Nguyen removed it from Apple's App Store and Google Play, after all the attention, and stress it caused among users, along with himself, as he claims.

“Flappy Bird” launched in mid 2013, but went viral and became a top free app to download in Apple's Store and Google Play in the past few weeks. Its popularity owes to the fact that it's a simple game, but also that it generates a lot of frustration (like, a lot!). However, users had found it highly entertaining.

Nguyen says that he hasn't had legal issues regarding the game, and assured fans that he will continue to design games. He also said “Flappy Bird” was not for sale.

If you have “Flappy Bird” on your smartphone or tablet, you can still play it, but if you haven't got it by now, you won't be able to download it anymore. Therefore you will save yourself of strong emotions of rage and irritation (like, a lot of it!).
