Five Super Fun Rides For Grownups

Ready or not, the future is here, and new methods of transportation are cropping up day by day. Those one-wheel motorcycles from sci-fi movies, which once looked so futuristic and dreamy, are now filling streets in every country around the globe. Now, let’s see what other high-tech options are out there for grownups who like an alternative, or more exciting, type of “ride.”

1. One-wheel motorcycle

This futuristic motorcycle doesn't just look cool, it is cool. The Ryno Microcycle is a one-wheel motorcycle by Ryno Motors. Even though it looks frightening to ride, it’s surprisingly safe and easy to control. You are not limited to the streets or the bike lane, you can use it on sidewalks and take it with you on public transport. It has a top speed of 10 mph and goes 10 miles per charge. Riding it comes naturally: lean forward to accelerate, lean backward to decelerate. If you want to stop, just put your legs down.

2. Electric three-wheel motorcycle

It’s compact, stylish and fun. Sway produced an electric three-wheel motorcycle that gives you the feeling you’re riding a true motorbike--without the fear of falling. The patented tilting system and three wheels allow greater stability on uneven surfaces and rain-slicked roads. Thanks to its size it’s easily parked in just about any place. Its great efficiency is supported with the regenerative braking system, a feature that hybrid cars have, which increases the battery life. With its maneuverability and thrill it allows you to reconnect with your city like no other motorcycle.

3. Kitewing

Combine the sensation of surfing and kite-boarding with the Kitewing. This is a wing-shaped kite that you can use with your skis, snowboard or skates, or just about any water sport for adrenalin junkies. More sports, one piece of equipment. As much as it's fun to use it’s easy to learn it as well. It is easy to transport, being no bigger than a ski bag. And, all you need is the power of the wind. Just don't get too close to the sun, or you might end up like Icarus.

4.Verrado Electric Trike

It may look like the three-wheel motorcycle, but it’s definitely not. Inspired by drift triking,  Local Motors, an Arizona-based manufacturer, invented the Verrado Electric Trike, an electric tricycle that makes drifting possible on flat ground. It has a BMX fork with a 20-inch, heavy-duty front wheel and two rear karting wheels. The trike employs a regenerative braking feature. The fun will last for 45 minutes with one charge, thanks to the Lithium Cobalt Manganese battery. Just pick your colour and go for a ride...

5. 2015 Dodge Challenger

Different from all the others but sure worth a mention. For those who do not fancy their money, the new Challenger variant from Dodge will be available soon. The first version was out in 2008, but this 2015 version has a completely new look, better engine and redesigned interior. It goes from 0 to 60mph in four seconds, and can hit a top speed of 182 mph. You can choose between six-speed manual transmission or the new eight-speed automatic. With its retro style and modern accessories, this muscle car will definitely make you fall in love.
