Five Next-Gen Games For Your Weekend

This weekend is yours to command! But which games are worthy of your shiny new next-gen console? Maybe a quick “top five” list would help…

Call of Duty: Ghost

Whether you have a PS4 or an Xbox1, Call of Duty: Ghost is a great option if you’re looking for a familiar FPS. The single-player mode is packed with adrenaline rushes in zero gravity scenarios, and if you’re a multi-player enthusiast, GamesRadar.com describes the CoD experience as, “one of the most polished and robust multiplayer offerings on the market.”

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag

The newest addition to the Assassins Creed series also demands attention. Specifically, the upgrade in graphics is astonishing. With such advanced imagery, your adventures on the high seas as the savvy pirate, Edward Kenway, is frighteningly lifelike. Blasting unsuspecting ships with cannons, boarding vessels with grappling hooks, and generally swashbuckling to your heart’s content, you will be singing “A Pirates Life for Me” in your sleep.

Battlefield 4

Battlefield 4’s multiplayer options are extensive, allowing for up to 64 participants. And the graphics more than validate the efforts of the system and the game’s creators. This game aims to offer a realistic immersive experience, showcasing the confluence of air and ground forces in a combat scenario. Needless to say, it is not for the faint of heart.

Killzone: Shadow Fall

For PS4 only, this is a first person shooter game set during the cold war. Focusing sharply on weapons strategy, as well as open-ended multiplayer options which allow gamers to make their own rules, the story is intense and interactive. It provides opportunities for showing mercy or brutality.

You ARE a part of the strategy and you will not escape unscathed.

Killer Instinct

For Xbox1 owners, Killer Instinct is a creative reinvention of the arcade classic. The unique system of combo handling allows each fighter continual action, and an ongoing chance to wrest back the upper hand. Its offering of tutorials makes it superior to most games, allowing beginners the chance to build up their skills before challenging a more experienced gaming enthusiast. To top it all off, Killer Instinct is free to play!

Dominate one of these games this weekend, and any lingering reality-induced stress is sure to be crushed—along with the skulls of your enemies.
