Here’s a good reason to keep up with your twitter feed: an anonymous real estate magnate has begun tweeting clues that lead San Franciscans to hidden money around the city. The story has turned San Fran into a city of treasure-hunters.The mysterious good samaritan stashes the cash and then drops hints on Twitter about how to find it. The white “Hidden Cash” envelopes contain sums of $100 bills. The wealthy individual says he is concerned with the widening gap between the rich and the poor, and that he sees this as a way to give back to the city that has made him rich.
The total found so far is more than US$5000. As of Wednesday morning, the selfless donor, who goes by “Hidden Cash” on Twitter, has attracted 103, 000 followers, all eagerly awaiting clues about future locations. The Good Samaritan also tweeted that he will be spreading the love even further, dropping envelopes in cities such as San Jose and Los Angeles, and maybe even New York by next month. This generous act on the part of the unknown magnate brightens our day, and we don’t even live in the Bay area.
