8 Ways to Manage Your Social Media Business Profiles

Big corporations can still afford multi-billion dollar ad campaigns to promote their businesses. For the rest of us, however, social networks are the way to go. It’s a great way to level the playing field for a slice of the market’s attention. Widespread exposure is no longer dependent on how much you can afford, but on how much social influence you wield. Here are eight ways to successfully manage social media business profiles.

Make Them Go “Hmm…”

The typical website visitor has the attention span of a gnat, so your posts have to grab them right away. Use engaging headlines that will engross users long enough to find out what it’s all about. And if you…

Use Great Content

…You’ll build the credibility of your social page. Well-constructed content helps users derive value from the time they spent on your page, and they will be more likely to return.

Effective Imagery

It sounds simple, but actually a post full of nothing but text is visually tiring. You want to ease the eyestrain by adding high-quality pictures. Comic strips, colourful collages, infographics, or even relevant video media will get visitors to stick to your pages and absorb more of what you have to tell them.

Give Stuff Away

Everyone likes freebies, so offer discounts or premium items for registering and commenting on your site. Contests are also a good way to improve interactivity. You’ll increase brand awareness and as a direct consequence, boost your bottom line..

Remember Your Market

If your niche consists mostly of 20-somethings, it’d be weird to post material marketed towards teenagers. Always keep your target market in mind, and produce content that’s relevant to them.

Make it Easy to Share

Social media buttons should always be included in your business’ website. Doing this increases your chances of having content go viral. Don’t make visitors search for them, because (spoiler alert) they won’t.

Interact

When your customers post comments on your social network, be a dear and respond. No one likes to talk to a brick wall, and after a while they will stop being interested. Remember: conversations drive conversions.

Build Links

Last but not least, post comments on other sites. If you post great content, people are sure to remember and look for you. Just make sure you don’t include links. There’s a word for that. It’s spam.
