Looking for Tech Bargains? Here are Five Places to Find them Online

The technology retail market moves very quickly. Manufacturers bring out new products so frequently that there are often real bargains to be had—the problem is finding out where to look for them.

Thankfully, there are many sites online that specialise in hunting down these bargains and publicising them to those in the know. If you’re in the market for a new gadget, it makes sense to have a look at these sites before you hit the high street or the mall—there’s every chance you could score some serious savings.

1. Tech Bargains

Tech Bargains describes itself as “the site that retailers hope you won’t discover.” The site aggregates deals and coupon codes from all over the Web.

Although Tech Bargains’ primary focus is on technology deals, you’ll also find great offers on fashion, furniture, travel, and in various other categories.

As is often the case with sites of this nature, signing up for updates and newsletters is generally the best way to ensure you’re the first to know about the best deals and offers.

2. SlickDeals

SlickDeals is a community-powered site that was voted best deal site by the readers of Lifehacker.

SlickDeals isn’t entirely about tech deals—you’ll also find up-to-the-minute offers in all kinds of different categories. Technology is a clear focus, though, with all kinds of offers including deals on digital downloads.

For example, at the time of writing, SlickDeals was offering a 3-PC, two-year deal on BitDefender Internet Security for just US$9, when you’d usually pay around $60 for just one year of cover.

3. Woot!

Woot! is a well-known daily deals site that was acquired by Amazon in 2010 and has strong links to the online retailer.

Although Woot! started off as a tech deals site, like many others it has since branched off into other areas, but there are still plenty of great tech offers there for the taking.

Woot! really is about daily deals, so you should subscribe to get the best from it. At the time of writing, the site was offering refurbished Smart TVs for as little as $139!

4. DealsPlus

DealsPlus is a truly democratic bargain-hunting site, where special offers find their way to the front page courtesy of a voting system. The deals with the most popularity get most coverage, which in theory results in the very best offers rising to the top of the pile.

DealsPlus is a pleasurable site to browse, and the voting system results in an assortment of both “daily deal” type offers and items that have simply been reduced to amazing prices on conventional websites.

5. Fatwallet

Fatwallet mixes daily deals with retailer special offers, but the truly valuable part of the site is the forum community, packed with truly dedicated bargain hunters.

These people look at everything from free shipping to cash-back offers. When we looked at the site, we saw all kinds of tech bargains, many of which amounted to cost reductions of at least 75% off the original retail prices.
