LG Will Make Sure You Never Lose Your Kids Again

Who says high-tech modern wearables are for adults only? LG has launched a wearable designed for kids, but in fact, it allows parents to keep track of the whereabouts of their little nuggets. The LG KizON smartwatch tracks pre-school and primary school children, thanks to integrated GPS and Wi-Fi. The tracker gives the real-time location of the child on the parents' smartphones or tablets.

Mommy and daddy are a click away with the “One Step Direct Call.” If kids want to talk to their parents, they can punch in one of the pre-set phone numbers, and get a hold of them with a single click. If the child doesn't answer a call from a parent in ten seconds, KizON will connect the call automatically via the mounted microphone.

If parents are wondering what their kids are doing at certain times of the day, they can use KizON's Location Reminder feature, which allows them to set the device prior to mounting it to their child’s wrist.

LG's wearable is said to last 36 hours, thanks to the 400 mAh battery, and when the battery life falls to 25%, KizON will notify parents on their smartphones. The wearable works on both 2G and 3G networks and comes in three appealing colours, including blue, green, and pink.

KizON will hit the stores in South Korea this week, and will reach North America and Europe in the fall. No details on the pricing of the wearable have been disclosed by LG yet.

LG has explored the recently popular wearables market, just like many have before – Samsung with its Gear 2 smartwatches, Apple with its upcoming smartwatch, and Motorola with its Moto 360. In this fast-growing market, make sure you keep up to date with a full list of Android apps that support the wearables.
