Microsoft's New Nokia X2 is a Serious Competitor with its New Offerings

Nokia has just globally launched the X2 Dual SIM, the first Android-based smartphone produced by Microsoft and a successor to the Nokia X smartphone. As is practice these days in the tech industry, the smartphone was leaked several times before it was officially out. The company has announced on its blog that the X2 will be immediately available in selected countries for targeted markets. Judging by its features, the X2 is the appropriate evolutionary step from the original Nokia X model. Design-wise, the phone is available in many trendy colours like glossy black, green, orange, dark grey, white and yellow and it now sports a translucent outer layer. Most notably, the X2 features a larger 4.3" ClearBlack display with a pixel resolution of 800 x 480.

The new Nokia supports dual-SIM which is a popular feature in emerging markets. Microsoft is hoping the Nokia X will be able to compete with other Android competitors in a way its Windows Phone wasn’t capable of. The phone features a plethora of Android applications and it has a low price. The X2 is priced at €99 before taxes or subsidies, and with low starting prices it will be a serious competition in this domain.
