Whether you have what it takes to get hired on the spot, or you already have the best paying job in the world, I bet you would be interested to hear which jobs will see the biggest pay raises this year, as rated by Robert Half.

 

1. Pre-sales / Technical engineer

Pre-sales reps and technical engineers are expected to see the greatest increase in their starting salaries with a raise of 8.4%, Half reports. Whether you're the technical expert, or the liaison between business development and the engineering team, you can expect to earn a little extra.

2. Mobile applications developer

Coding, debugging, testing: mobile applications developers are likely to see a net increase of 7.8%, according to Half.

3. Software developer

Software Developers' net salaries increased by 7.7% over last year’s rates. If you don’t mind swinging solo most of the time, this might be the lucrative career for you.

4. Business intelligence analyst

Research types find their niche in the field of business intelligence analysis. With a net increase of 7.4% this year, finding concepts and methods to increase your company's profits has never been more profitable.

5. Data architect

The data architect is instrumental to figuring out how to utilize and benefit from new data technology. Sound like you? If so, you’ll be happy to hear that data architects saw a raise of  7.2% this year.

6. Wireless network engineer

As businesses become more and more dependent on wireless technology, they are in great need of wireless network engineers. Maybe that explains the 7% raise these employees  will see in 2014. If you hold a Bachelor’s in computer engineering, seek out a job designing, implementing, and optimizing a company's wireless LAN.

7. Information systems security manager

If you're a responsible techie, information system security manager is a natural fit. Supervising, shouldering management, and training the security staff will get you a 6.8% salary raise this year.

8. Accounting and finance

Every little bit counts, especially to the bean-counters. Accounting and finance employees racked up a small but significant 3.4% raise this year.

Each of these fields saw a raise of 3.3% this year. Whether you're creating innovative campaigns or you're responsible for clerical support, it’s a great time to pursue a career in either field.

Albeit small, a 2.7% raise is a raise. Provide legal support to your clients and collect the fruit of your labour.
