Game of Thrones' Author Offers Rewards to Charitable Donors

For awhile, The Sopranos TV series held the supreme spot on the pedestal as the most watched TV series, and Game of Thrones came second to that. Not anymore. According to HBO executives, the rating polls have shown that Game of Thrones has become the new ratings king and the most watched HBO show ever, surpassing The Sopranos. While there are plenty of ways by which the creators and the actors can use this popularity, the Game of Thrones' book author George RR Martin has come up with an ingenious crowdfunding solution for his white wolf sanctuary.

This noble man and popular fiction writer offers readers and fans of the TV series an opportunity to become a “martyr” in the next book he writes if they donate £20,000 both for the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and The Food Depot of Santa Fe charities. Martin offers a spot for two characters, a male and a female, and he promises a “grisly” death to bidders. And that is not all, the highest bidders will also be given a visit to the wolf sanctuary and a helicopter ride. Judging by the popularity of the series and the unusual and unexpected twists and deaths, this may turn out to be a popular, and altruistic, way to lose your life.
