Get The Most Out of LinkedIn With the New Profile Redesign

It has been well-established that you can grow your business or personal brand with LinkedIn. The professional networking site allows users to easily find jobs, increase their influence, and add value, every step of the way. LinkedIn's is now offering a profile redesign to help premium users achieve even even more.

The redesigned profile page includes a large profile picture and a cover image spanning the top of the page that users can upload themselves or choose from a set of standards images. The redesign makes LinkedIn’s interface look very much like Twitter's recently launched page, as well as Facebook's.

LinkedIn offers personalized suggestions for optimizing the new profile page to create the best possible professional image. The site also introduced Open Profile, an option to make your profile available to  all LinkedIn members so that anyone can contact you any time, for free. Users will continue to see the 90-day list of Who's Viewed Your Profile and  the 100 results for How You Rank, in order to establish business relationships and track their LinkedIn presence.

In addition to the Premium redesign, LinkedIn also launched a starter package, called Premium Spotlight, targeted at young professionals.

LinkedIn's profile redesign is said to add a personal touch to their members' professional portfolios and help them “stand out.” LinkedIn is clearly hoping to attract new paying users, since the Premium features are available to subscribers only, and they likely will, despite the fact that there are many social platforms that do this for free.
